Here’s an alarming statistic: Americans spent twice as much on their credit cards in January 2008 as they did the month previous.

Thanks to the subprime mortgage crisis, people that were using home equity lines of credit are now turning to credit cards.

I just did my taxes for the first time in a LONG time. I only did them for 2007, though. I have to call somebody, a tax expert, I guess? And see what I need to do about the years I did not file them. The Game is Afoot!

Ah, so now it starts to get interesting.

I am currently the only source of income for our family. And, as of this past weekend, I am currently on bedrest. Oh bother.

I cannot begin to tell you the panic I felt at first. I'm looking at up to 12 weeks on bedrest (hopefully more like 8) but that's a lot of time with no income.
