Debt Free Weirdos

Its Weird to Be Debt Free - Start Being Weird Today!

3 months ago, I was working on the snowball.... now I am waiting on our tax return to get current and establish our EF.

My dh works construction and this has been a HORRIBLE winter for us. We didn't have near enough money saved and we had to dip into our EF to cover everything.

I can't wait to get caught up, establish the EF and get started again!! DH is finally onboard and a church in our town is doing FPU, which we both plan on attending.

That is fantastic! I wish our church was offering FPU. Maybe I can get that going within the next year or so. :)

Hi DFM, EF or is it DH? Not sure but what is FPU? (just kidding!),

With what all the internet has to offer I sometimes become confused with all of the
abrevs. that pepper the superhighway we call the net.

Yes, I could see that the winter months can be difficult for the construction business
and having young ones to care for in addition.

Ebay
During the winter months (and to a lesser degree summer)...
eBay works for me.

I especially find during the winter months eBay picks up
and you can make more money on eBay (sometimes LOTS.)

I live alone (divorced) except with my dog Paco and found that
I could make extra money easily (well almost) selling stuff my
ex left behind (quite a bit of stuff actually) and also paintings
I work on when I'm ambitious, you can see some at
www.roberttutskyfineart.com (no plug, just a look at,
something you might like to try).

I do ok on eBay selling this stuff and the auctions add an extra insight
on how to make money (helping to kill debt).

Not only that I get a kick out of it.!

Right now I'm in the jewelry phase, selling what I don't need
(I don't look good in dangle, dongle, dingle earrings or whatever).
It's actually easy and not as time consuming as some suggest,
unless you're after a Powerseller status.

You don't actually have to sell everything you own including
what's nailed down, contrary, you can find bargains at tag sales,
flea markets and hand-me-down shops that you can do very well
with reselling on eBay. You should know your prices and study
eBay a bit, but after a while you'll make money... no problem.

It's easy and fun, especially when you are making money
and enjoying the warm email returns from satisfied customers.

In the future I hope to put together an eBay starting course and
later include a more advanced courses showing how to make
money with eBay.

If Amy would allow, I'd be more than willing to
start something like this. No money involved ever, just me looking to
help folks get out of debt with their own earnings through using
eBay as their vehicle. I know I'll learn through this also!

God Bless and good earnings to you all,
Robert

Thank you so much, Robert! Great idea!

I have sold on eBay before I had my 2 year old, but after I had her, it was hard to get to garage sales, so I gave it up. Maybe this summer, I will focus on it again.

My husband is very talented in the artistic way and I have often told him that he needs to focus his energy on his art during his off time. I think he gets too stressed out over money to be able to do that. Another great reason for us to focus on getting out of debt! Then we can start doing things we enjoy!!

I tried eBay for a while, but I have to say that I really started getting disillusioned with it. What I saw was that while they were upping the fees, sellers were starting to charge ludicrous amounts of money for shipping... probably to make up for some of the losses.

At the same time, I was finding that I wasn't able to find the same bargains I found before, everything was suddenly like 50% more expensive.

When it came to selling, there weren't nearly as many buyers interested. It's like half of their clientele got tired of it and left at the same time. Maybe I should try again... is it any better?
